The evolution of Design for AI - Machine Learning
One advantage of working for a company like IBM is we have been thinking about how AI should be incorporated into design for a long time. The first project I was involved in that used a machine learning (ML) algorithm as the foundation for an interface was a client experience project where we incorporated text analysis of community discussions about IBM products and its competitors called Cognitive Feedback Analyzer in 2017. The process was largely manual and results could be slow, but the insights were valuable and led to improved product as well as sales positioning and marketing.
